Jack Kipp, 1920 - 2006
Jack Kipp, a 4th-generation and lifelong Folsom resident, passed away of natural causes on Friday. Kipp was well known for his contributions to the city, as he served as mayor for many years, and was influential in the city's growth. The city's civic center is named after him. Friends are invited to attend visitation Tues. May 30, from 5 to 8 p.m., & Wed. May 31 from Noon to 5 p.m. both at Miller Funeral Home in Folsom, and a rosary Wed. May 31, 2006 at 7 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial Thurs. Prairie City SVRA is home to a great dirt-bike track, and also hosts the annual Hangtown Motocross Classic. This year's event attracted over 22,000 fans! New Tastes Coming to Folsom
Awaiting final construction at Prairie City & Willard are several new eateries to Folsom. Intel workers will enjoy new lunch options with Goodfellas Expressly Italian, as well as an Indian-style grille, mexican restaurant, wrap eatery, as well as a stand-alone upscale restaurant. Construction continues and restaurants should open this summer.
Home Invasion on Clemsford Square Reported
A home invasion was reported recently in Folsom. Two men in their late teens or early 20s forced their way inside a home, and robbed a Folsom resident of cash, jewelry and coins. The woman was uninjured.
