The misses and I stopped by Bailies tonight for the first time in a while (since it was sold several months ago).  The restaurant has been closed for a while and they just re-opened last week so we thought we’d go check them out and see what has changed.

Bailies still looks the same, nice and classy inside with a good decor just like it always was.

They still make some really good martinis, which they've always been well known for.

The big difference is that they have a new menu mainly consisting of chicken, seafood, steaks and pasta done up as they describe, classic bistro style...  there's also some of the same dishes they had before but here's the really great part - the prices are about HALF what they used to be!  I was surprised to see the low prices on the menu.  The most expensive dish is a full rack of smoked ribs for $15.00 and most all  dishes averaged $8-12 dollars a plate – best part was that everything we tasted tonight was very good.

For an appetizer we tried the skirt steak tacos, they were a great way to start dinner off, highly recommend trying these - $5.50

I had the shrimp scampi dish that cost $10.00 – great price... and the best part... it tasted fantastic.  I was blown away by the low prices and the fact that everything turned out to be so very good tasting.... that’s usually unheard of...  low cost and good quality together like that - this is something new and I sure the heck hope it catches on.... these kind of low prices make it affordable to go out to a place like that more than once in a blue moon.

My wife had a carrot ginger soup that sounded weird, but it tasted outstanding, we were very impressed with how good it tasted … -and the cost of the soup.... $2.50 - unbelievable!

So now that Bailies is back in biz, with a decent menu, outstanding prices and the same old great ambiance and of course.. fantastic martini’s too – it’s time to go back and check them out.

The new owner also mentioned that in a week or so they will be open starting at 8am, serving crepes and as he stated, the best omelet’s in town.    Should be interesting, this is one place I look forward to going back to soon.
