It Will Be Ready... Will it Be Open?

Sandra Gallardo Elementary in the Prairie Oaks subdivision appears to be on schedule to be finished by fall of 2003, but the classrooms could have been unused and vacant for a year. With the budget crunch, many school districts are being forced to delay the openings of brand-new schools, in an effort to save money. FCUSD officials had considered delaying the opening of the school, however realized that not opening it would be far too damaging politically. More is in the Bee.
