Volunteers are being sought for a new toy museum, which is hoped to be open on Sutter Street by November. An introduction meeting will be held on Saturday, March 13 at the Murer House Learning Center in Folsom beginning at 1:30 pm.  Folsom Police have released the photos of 2 unknown men, wanted in the February assault of a man and his girlfriend on Sutter Street. Emma's Place Finds a Home

Traffic Calming Underway in Folsom
The controversial tactic of "traffic calming" has been temporarily implemented throughout historic Folsom, causing a logjam through the major thoroghfares of Folsom. Most notably, a diagonal diverter at the intersection of Scott and Sutter Streets. Many motorists have clearly not been happy with the means of discouraging traffic, however many of the residents of the Historic District are finding the solution acceptable. Folsom Rodeo Kicks Off With Cattle Drive
For those of you new to Folsom, you may want to head over to Sutter Street today at 'high noon' for its annual cattle drive thoughout the streets of Folsom. In celebration of the annual Folsom Rodeo, organizers will herd steer from the rodeo down the streets of Folsom from city park to the Chamber of Commerce. Following the cattle drive, there will be karaoke, pony race and roping contest at the Chamber.

Folsom Welcomes Summer
Memorial Day is symbolically the kickoff of summer weather, and Folsom has many options to enjoy the sunshine. Many boaters will be visiting Folsom Lake this weekend, but there are many other options available as well. Lake Natoma is always a popular swimming hole, and many enjoy shopping in historic Sutter Street to pass the time. Or you can enjoy your air conditioning and chat with your Folsom neighbors! Either way, enjoy your weekend!!!

Sutter Street Parking Garage Getting Mixed Reviews
The city's plans to build a parking structure on Sutter Street is not getting favorable reviews from business owners and neighbors. Even though the land is not for sale on the market, the city could esentially take it via eminent domain, according to Joe Luchi, the city's economic development coordinator. The property owner and several business owners in the area are not impressed by the city's proposal. More is in the Bee.

Sutter Street Parking Garage Proposed
Residents of the Historic District of Folsom may be interested in knowing that the city is looking at building a parking garage across from the railroad block area. Currently, the Sutter Street area is always jammed during events such as Thursday Night Market, and a parking garage may help. But at what price? Tired of Mather Field Noise? Here's Your Chance to Speak Up
The Sacramento County Department of Airports is looking to expand traffic to and from Mather Field, despite the widespread criticism from Folsom and El Dorado residents that current flight paths are too low and too frequent. FAA officials and air cargo representatives will be on hand September 19th at Sutter Middle School to field your questions. Mather Field Noise a Sore Spot For Many Residents
Planes flying in to Mather Field over Folsom and El Dorado Hills is a very common occurrence - so common that residents are beginning to speak up about the noise and how low they actually are supposed to be flying. FAA officials and air cargo representatives will be on hand in the next 2 town hall meetings, on September 19th and 26th at Sutter Middle School and the El Dorado Hills Community Services District Pavilion, respectively. It's Rodeo Time!
It's that time of the year again - time for the Folsom Pro Rodeo. This year's Rodeo will take place nightly from July 3-6, at Folsom City Park. Come on by to check out the buckin' broncos, cavalcades, and the always popular "mutton-busting". This year will feature a special tribute to America, with a skydiver and a 2,000 foot American flag! Folsom Looks to Increase Tourism
Folsom has had little problems filling hotel rooms during the business week, however vacancy rates on the weekends are something the Folsom Tourism Bureau wants to improve upon. Folsom is looking to make the city more of a destination to residents of the Bay Area and other areas. Folsom's proximity to the gold country, rafting areas, as well as historical hotspots such as Sutter Street, the Folsom Powerhouse, and Folsom Lake to name a few, are making the city an attractive option on the weekends.
